My first memory is of when I was three years old and I was riding my little red tricycle around the garage while my mother was on the side, ironing all of the family's clothes. I was exasperated at the tensions I was feeling in my home. I said to myself in my mind, "Ugh! Why am I here?" In a moment, a woman's voice near my ear said, "You are here to love and serve others." This satisfied my three year old mind and I continued to ride my tricycle in circles.
Truth be told, if that happened today, I would pepper the voice with a litany of questions about life, the afterlife, the universe, God, the nature of reality, and on-and-on. So, it's probably better that the question was answered as a child. I accepted it, 100%. I look back on that experience a lot, and it guides the important choices in my life, and when I allow it, the less important choices. (Although they might really be the important choices masquerading as less important.)
I am so blessed that I had this experience. By knowing the "why," I allow my highest-self, my most authentic-self to bubble-up and overflow the gifts that I have to share with others. We all have gifts to share. I am not unique in this. The world is aching for all of us to know our "why" and to share our highest, most authentic self in the world. I believe we all know, deep down, what we are here to do. I think we get stuck in the "hows." Maybe if we hone the "why," the "how" automatically unfolds, in perfect order.
I know why I am a Reconnective Healing Practioner. It is to bring healing to people in all areas of their lifes. It is to share energy, light, and information, while basking in Universal Love/God/Divine Intelligence. And, I am thrilled that I get to share it!
